Welcome to my portfolio site!  My name is Idania Hutchens, and I have spent many decades in graphic design and advertising. My career began with a pivotal internship at an ad agency, which naturally led to roles in strategy and creative leadership. I’ve been fortunate to work on a diverse range of projects, from retail advertising and branding to websites and fine art.

As a mother of four amazing men, my personal and professional worlds have always intertwined. It is this connection that has inspired me to create this portfolio website.  One of my sons is currently studying design, and I wanted to create this site to serve as a resource for him and aspiring designers. I’ve always valued my privacy, but my desire to teach and support him has inspired me to share insights and examples from my work. Understanding the fundamentals is critical in design, and I believe these examples will be beneficial in illustrating both the creative process and the reasoning behind each project. Here, you will find my experiences, lessons learned, and inspirations, all aimed at providing strategic insights and “A-HA!” moments.
