Apparo
Brand Guide
Project Overview
Bringing clarity and consistency to a nonprofit brand.
Apparo helps nonprofits access affordable technology, skilled corporate volunteers, and project support to strengthen their impact.
The project focused on refining the existing brand and creating a practical identity system that could bring consistency across communications, presentations, print, and digital.
The Challenge
Apparo needed a clearer visual identity that felt professional, approachable, and technology-focused without feeling overly corporate.
The brand also needed simple guidelines that would help staff and partners use it consistently across different materials and platforms.
The Idea
The visual direction focused on making technology feel human, accessible, and optimistic.
A clean, structured design approach was balanced with bright color, approachable imagery, and typography that gave the brand both clarity and personality.
The System
The identity was organized into a flexible system that could support everyday communications as well as future growth.
The brand guide established:
- Logo usage
- Typography
- Color palette
- Photography direction
- Graphic elements
- Stationery
- Layout examples
- Print and digital applications
The goal was to create guidelines that were clear enough to maintain consistency without making the brand difficult to use.
The Execution
The refreshed identity was translated into a practical brand guide and supporting materials.
The visual system combined Montserrat with American Typewriter to balance structure with personality. A signature blue and red palette was supported by secondary colors that gave the brand flexibility across different applications.
Photography focused on bright, collaborative, and human moments, helping communicate Apparo’s technology expertise without making the organization feel overly technical.
The Outcome
The result was a more cohesive and usable identity system that gave Apparo a stronger presence across its communications.
The brand guide created a clear foundation for staff, partners, and future designers, making it easier to maintain consistency as the organization continued to grow.
The goal wasn’t to reinvent the brand. It was to give it the clarity and structure it needed to work better.
